2011 Trend.. Colour Block!

One of the biggest trends for this season girls is block colouring. Get all your bright statement pieces out and get creative. There is more than one way to wear block colours. Either go all out and wear the same colour in everything, dress, shoes, tights or mix and match your colours. You might feel like you look the rainbow at first but have no fear it will all come together in the end. Be careful to choose your colours wisely though. The ones which work well together are pink and purple, red and pink, and orange with blue or purple. Bright colours are often the key to success with this trend as pastels and pale tones can make you look frumpy.

Miss Poland Ireland 2011..

As I'm sure you all heard 12 lovely ladies took to the stage of the Wright Venue on Sunday night to compete in the Miss Polonii Irlandii Show. The girls competed in a series of dances, walks, looks and questioning. They all did brilliant and looked stunning.

The judges on the night included Shane Lennon, Miss Ireland Emma Waldron, Elaine Butler Doolan, Selina Regazolli, Jim Fitzpatrick, Roxanne Parker and Agata Stoinska, and the show was presented by Mr World Kamal Ibrahim and Izabela Chudzicka. It was a great success and a huge congrats to the winner Karolina Tomasiak. The show took us from being a little girl to becoming the princess who won the crown. We seen the girls change from cocktails dresses to evening wear aswel as swimwear and cabaret, all dresses on the night were from Camille Boutique in Malahide.

It's compettion time again. WIN A FULL SET OF GEL OR ACRYLIC NAILS WITH TOP NAIL TECHNICIAN.

Right ladies, it's that time again! Why not try and win yourself a full set of gel or acrylic nails with top nail technician Amy Hayes of Purple Hayes Nail and Beauty. Amy has 6 years experience in Nails and beauty after training with Portobello college, she is also a qualified nail educator and teaches courses regularly in her salon out in Ballyboughal, Dublin. She has even travelled to Holland to train with some of the world's greatest 'Nail Guru's' and has competed in many local and national competitions and shows in Dublin. I've had my nails done many times with Amy and she is amazing.

1. We have decided on a theme, Disney Princesses.

2. You have to decide on a design for a set of nails that would fit in best with the theme. For example, if I was to pick Cinderella, a 3d glass slipper on a nail could be a design.

3. We along with Amy herself will decide on which is the most creative and who is the lucky winner.

Get that lippy out ladies..

So I think at this stage we have our fashion for this year down to a tee, but what about beauty. What should we be matching our clothes with? 

Statement lips - reds, blues, blacks, purples and pinks! Sounds mad, I know but when fashion calls we follow ;) Let your eyes be more natural, with a light cream or brown shadow and let the lips be bold. It's not so much about the smokey eyes now but more the pout! 

And of course there's our hair and what to do with it. Buns are all in, side or high! Grab a donut for 1.50e in penneys, wrap your hair around it and you are ready to go. Or else keep it nice and simple in a low ponytail plait. Hair for this season is very loose and natural, nothing to severe or over done looking.

Casual Chic is the newest dress code to hit this season, it's a mix of sophisticated smart pieces with a relaxed and effortless look. In other words, it's a laid back look with an effortless fashion forward sense.

How should it be worn?

This look is a mix of simple and elegant pieces like, a pair of slacks or chinos with a dressy top put with loads of accessories such as beads and chains or a leather jacket. The look is 'perfect' with an edge!

Celebs like Sienna Miller, Alexa Chung and Jennifer Anniston are constantly sporting this trend in almost everything they wear. Here's some examples of the style icons at their best :-)

It's coming to that time of year again, bikini season.. well almost! Every year we pray that we will get a great summer, and here goes wishing for another year. We of course have to be prepared for it tho, so what should we have for SS11.

Wow Brown, Ready to Glow. Perfect fit for your handbag, be bronzed of the go. This is one of the best tans I have ever used and comes up within a few hours, at just 15euro in most chemists you can't go wrong :)

One shoulder dresses are all in this year, so get to topshop and pick up one as fab as this one today.

A playsuit is an essential, whether you are just relaxing on the beach or hitting the tiles, one of these must and in your wardrobe this season.

Look like Kim Kardashian in just 5 easy steps...

Want to look like Kim Kardashian? Of course you do! Who doesn't! She is fab and flawless. We are going to run you through a few easy steps, and in minutes your hair and make up will be just like Kim's...

1. Prim and prep the skin, I love smashbox photo finish primer. Then apply a nice coverage foundation, and of course one that suits your skin tone (Remember Kim may be sallow but not all of us Irish are)

2. Apply a light brown base colour all over the lid, and apply a dark brown eyeshadow in the crease of the eye. Blend well with a big  brush as you want it to look soft and not to harsh. Use a black eyeliner pencil to define the eye and apply long lash mascara.

3. Apply a light shade bronzer, contouring the cheeks, with a nice peach blusher (just in time for the summer)

4. Then of course, finish off with a nice pale pink or clear gloss. And achieve the perfect Kim pout ;)

5. Get the luscious locks by using a large barral curler or wand. Separate the hair into the a middle split and back comb lightly. Finish off with some serum or shine spray to get that flawless finished look.

Fashion fades yet style is eternal.. ;)

Whether we all have them, or we all like them, they are definitely something that are discussed by everyone. Tattoos, they are known as a marking made by inserting ink  into the dermis layer of skin to change the pigment for decorative or other reasons. Forget about the technical stuff tho, what we want to know is are they a fashion accessory?

Celebs all around the globe have them, a few of the best known and copied ones by us are Cheryl's hand tattoo, Rihanna shoulder and neck and of course Posh Spice's symbols on neck. People everywhere have these, or ones similar. Some people love them and others wonder how they will look when you are old and grey.

I myself think they are one of the main accessories on the market today. You often hear girls deciding on one and wondering what will it look like with this dress or these shoes. And if it's good enough for Cheryl surely it's good enough for me too. Tattoo designs for females has become one of the busiest markets in the world, so I think it is safe to say that they are all fashion now-a-days and should be chosen wisely... Remember, fashion fades yet style is eternal ;) x
